Thumbs up to Henrico EDA for a great half-day business conference featuring tips, experiences, and insights from some of RVA’s leading entrepreneurs and business leaders.  Master facilitator and moderator John Sarvay of Floricane did his usual outstanding job of orchestrating the morning’s activities and discussions for an estimated crowd of 100 attendees at Reynolds Community College.  Lots of great information was shared throughout multiple tracks of programs throughout the event.

Here are a few pearls of wisdom from Henrico EDA’s Catalyst 2015:

Tim MacAleese (CFO and founding owner of Elephant Insurance Services)–Five keys to business success are:  (1)  Have a vision an do not waiver; (2) recruit great people; (3) define your roadmap (with numbers); (4) continuously improve; and (5) give away responsibility

Bobby Ukrop (President and CEO of Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods)–Passion and purpose are critical to business success.

Chris Leone (COO of WebStrategies)–Current trends in online marketing reflect that most money is being directed toward search and display marketing, BUT email marketing remains the most effective strategy. Original, relevant, and compelling content remains KING.

The parting gift of Ukrop’s white house rolls was a nice touch…definitely a fun and informative morning and Perkins Law was proud to be a sponsor.
