Shulman-Bernstine Win the Perkins Law Winner-Take-All Challenge

Over 200 tennis fans enjoyed a fun evening of great food and tennis at Salisbury Country Club’s 10th Annual Friday Night Lights tennis extravaganza on February 23, 2018.

Willow Oaks Country Club Teaching Pro Eric Shulman, recently inducted into the Christopher Newport University Hall of Fame, and Goochland High School senior Ryan Bernstine, won a well-played match against the team of former Salisbury teaching pro Cesar Grobel and recent James Madison University graduate Brett Moorhead 6-3, 6-4.

In the opening match of the night, the “home” team of Scott Steinour and Mike Moyer defeated the acac team of Jason Kinder and Al Thomas in a tight match decided by a third set match tiebreak.

Having been involved with tennis since I was 8 years old, it is always fun to support the local tennis community. There are so many ways to get involved and make a difference. I’d encourage anyone interested in getting more involved with the sport–whether as a player, coach, or volunteer–to check out www.richmondtennis.org for all the latest updates from across the RVA tennis community and different ways you can get involved.
